U.N. GENERAL ASSEMBLY PRESIDENT TO ADDRESS ORGANISATION FOR ECONOMIC CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN PARIS

 

United Nations, New York, 11 December 2017 – The President of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, will travel to Paris, France, on 14 December.

While in Paris, he will address the Council of Ambassadors to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to discuss and exchange views on the priorities of his Presidency, the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and issues under the consideration of the 72nd session of the General Assembly.

He will also meet with Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary General of the OECD, on areas of common interest and to explore ways to further strengthen the cooperation between the OECD and the United Nations.

On 12 December, on his way to Paris and as part of his monthly working visit to Slovakia, the President will address an intragovernmental body of the Slovak Republic on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The President will travel to Paris with Senior Adviser Abdelghani Merabet and Special Assistant and Political Coordinator Lenka Miháliková. In Bratislava, Slovakia, he will be accompanied by Ms. Mihálikova. Travel costs for Paris will be covered from the Trust Fund of the Office of the President of the General Assembly. The trip to Bratislava will be funded by the Slovak Government.

The President will return to New York on 14 December.
