The Week Ahead at the General Assembly of the United Nations

Monday, 27 November

The President of the General Assembly will be in Vienna today to deliver opening remarks at the 17th Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The conference’s theme this year is: “Partnering for Impact – Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals”.

Tuesday, 28 November

The President of the General Assembly will be in Geneva to address the 108th Session of the Council of the International Organization for Migration.

Wednesday, 29 November

From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in Conference Room 4, the first informal consultations will be held on the proposed elements of the draft resolution related to the Secretary-General’s reform proposal contained in his report on restructuring of the United Nations peace and security pillar (A/72/525).

On the occasion on International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the General Assembly Plenary will meet at 3:00 p.m. in the General Assembly Hall to consider the Question of Palestine, including reports by the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and the Secretary-General. The Plenary will also consider the situation in the Middle East.

Thursday, 30 November

The Second Committee (Economic and Financial Committee) is expected to wrap up its work today.

Friday, 1 December

The President of the General Assembly will host the 2nd session of his Morning Dialogue Series. The theme of this dialogue will be “Supporting effective participation of small delegations” from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
