Tribute for the late Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, H.E. Vitaly I. Churkin
UNITED NATIONS, New York, 20 March 2017 — The President of the UN General Assembly, H.E. Peter Thomson, will convene a formal meeting of the General Assembly to pay tribute to the memory of His Excellency Vitaly Ivanovich Churkin, late Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, in the General Assembly Hall (UNHQ New York) on 21 March 2017.
Brief statements will be made by the President of the General Assembly, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Chairs of five regional groups for the month of March 2017, the President of the Security Council for the month of March 2017 and a Representative of the United Nations Host Country, followed by a Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations.
