Briefing for Member States about The Ocean Conference in 2017
United Nations, New York, 9 December 2016 — The President of the United Nations General Assembly will convene a briefing for member states on the ongoing preparations for the United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 to be held in in New York from 5-9 June 2017 as well as its preparatory meeting on 15-16 February 2017.
The briefing will take place on Tuesday, 13 December 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00pm in the Trusteeship Council Chamber, with the participation of representatives of the Co-Presidents of the Conference, Fiji and Sweden as well as the Secretary General of the Conference, Mr. Wu Hongbo and the Focal Point for UN-Oceans and Special Adviser to the Co-Presidents, Mr. Miguel de Serpa Soares.
