Meeting with H.E. Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria

On 21 September, the President of the General Assembly H.E. Peter Thomson met with H.E. Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, President of Bulgaria. President Plevneliev briefed on the progress achieved, during the five years of his tenure, by his country which has become an island of stability in an area troubled by several crises. He emphasized Bulgaria’s friendly relations with its neighbours, as well as its multi-cultural character. The process of the selection and appointment of the next Secretary-General was also discussed.
