Meeting of President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson with H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

On 20 September, the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson met with H.E. Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The President of the General Assembly thanked the Russian Foreign Minister for his country’s good cooperation with the Pacific Islands. The PGA will be liaising closely with the Russian Permanent Representative in his capacity as President of the Security Council for the month of October, also in moving forward the process of selection and appointment of the next UN Secretary-General. The issue of Security Council reform was also discussed.
