President travels to Cuba

The President of the UN General Assembly H.E. Mogens Lykketoft will travel to Havana, Cuba later today (Wednesday) at the invitation of the Cuban Government.
On Thursday, he will join the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the President of the Security Council, Ambassador François Delattre of France, to witness the signing in Havana of the bilateral ceasefire and laying down of arms agreement between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC-EP).
While in Havana, the President is also expected to have a number of bilateral meetings.
The President will be accompanied by his wife Mette Holm and a number of staff from the Office of the President. The trip is paid for from the Trust Fund of the Office of the President apart from his wife’s travel which will be paid from personal funds.
