Mogens Lykketoft, President of the UN General Assembly, and Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, met before President Abbas addressed the General Assembly today. They discussed the situation and tensions in the old city of Jerusalem, the decision of the General Assembly to raise the flag of non-member observer states and the question of Palestine which has been on the General Assembly agenda for years but remains unsolved.
