1 March - 30 April 2020: Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Building Sustainable Peace in Africa [LPI]
A series of consultations (both in person and virtual) focused on the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes region organized by the Life&Peace Institute entitled Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Building Sustainable Peace in Africa: A series of consultations as part of the United Nations 2020 Peacebuilding Architecture Review. In total seven consultations were held in March and April 2020. These included two face-to-face consultations in Mogadishu (Somalia) and Bukavu (Democratic Republict of Congo), four virtual or phone consultations with peacebuilding pracitioners from Ethiopia and the Borderlands areas (Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Sudan) and one virtual consultation with representatives of regional and international organisations. This was an adapted process from the orginally planned multi-stakeholder in-person consultation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
