Secretary-General launches "Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy"

On 16 October, the Secretary-General launched the Mental Health and Well-Being Strategy. The project was developed by a collaborative multidisciplinary, multi-agency working group, under the auspices of the High Level Committee on Management, in response to the findings of the UN Mental Health and Wellbeing survey.

The five-year strategy was created for all staff, across diverse roles, contexts and environments, with the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of the UN by optimizing the psychological health of its personnel. Following the launch of the strategy, the inaugural meeting of the interagency Programme Board, which is a cross-functional group that will oversee the priority initiatives of the strategy, also took place.
