In line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed by UNESCO and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Government of the Republic of Korea offers 25 fellowships of no more than two months’ duration each year. Aimed at enhancing human resources and national capacity-building in LDCs in Africa, Asia and the Pacific Regions, these fellowships enable candidates to conduct research work or participate in a training course in the Republic of Korea.
The implementing agencies are KOICA and the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU).
Utilization by LDCs: Since 2013, 25 fellowships have been awarded every year.
