The IPCC Scholarship Programme

The IPCC Scholarship Programme was established with the funds received from the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize award to the IPCC. These have since been supplemented by contributions from individuals and institutions. The last round of awards was financed by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Cuomo Foundation.

The aim of the IPCC Scholarship Programme is to build capacity in the understanding and management of climate change in developing countries by providing opportunities to young scientists from developing countries to undertake studies that would not be possible without the intervention of the Fund.

Applications by students from LDCs and SIDS researching topics within the fields of study indicated in the ‘call for applications’, are given priority.
