13 May 2019. Started in 2017, the Registered Export System (REX) is an electronic system used to certify the origin of products from developing countries that benefit from the European Union’s Generalized System of Preferences, including LDCs that benefit from the Everything But Arms scheme (duty free quota free market access). REX allows exporters to self-certify the origin of their goods once certain conditions have been fulfilled. Countries need to sign on to this process and the Enhanced Integrated Framework provides assistance for LDCs to do so.
