DESA delivers ePing training for WTO Advanced course on TBT Agreement

On 7 March Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) gave an introductory course to over 20 developing country participants on the ePing export alert notification system as part of a five-day training course organized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) Secretariat. The course is a follow up to WTO activities organized in 2015, during which participants elaborated an “action plan” to address Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT)-related implementation and/or market access issue they identified in their country.  This year’s training focuses on  encouraging participants  to take a leadership role in making a difference in their countries, despite the various institutional challenges and resource limitations they may face.

At the request of participants in the training workshop session on 7 March, DESA arranged for additional training sessions on 8 and 9 March, allowing for further in-depth capacity building activities related to the ePing toolkit.
