The Committee for Development Policy (CDP) is a subsidiary body of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) composed of 24 members nominated in their personal capacity by the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Membership is geared to reflect a wide range of development experience as well as geographical and gender balance. Among other functions, it periodically reviews the LDC category and the application of the category by the United Nations development system, and monitors the progress of countries after graduation.
