The Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) logo is available for use in the six official languages of the UN (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish) as well as (Portuguese, Hindi and Kiswahili).

FAQs

When do I need to request permission to use the LDC5 logo?
Any use of LDC5 branding for fundraising and commercial use requires prior written permission.

Do commercial entities require approval to use the LDC5 branding for informational purposes?
Permission is not required for uses that are primarily illustrative, such as in presentations, internal newsletters, non-financial or annual reports and other corporate materials to communicate organization’s LDC5-related activities and support for the objectives of LDC5. The LDC5 logo must always be used in accordance with the official guidelines which can be found ​pdf icon here.

What types of uses are not permitted?
The LDC5 logo may not be used in any manner which implies United Nations endorsement of the products, services or activities (e.g. in the context of promoting or advertising products, services, or activities) nor may it be used for the purpose of self-promotion or obtaining any personal financial gain. Any use of LDC5 branding without a clear alignment with the spirit and objectives of the LDC5 conference will generally not be permitted.

Can I use the LDC5 logo on business cards and stationery?
No. The logo may not be used in any manner which implies United Nations endorsement of the products, services or activities (e.g. in the context of promoting or advertising products or services) nor may it be used for the purpose of self-promotion or obtaining any personal financial gain.

How do I request permission to use the LDC5 logo?
To request permission, please submit a sample or mock-up illustrating how you intend to use the icons or logo, along with a brief description of the desired use to conor.oloughlin@un.org, indicating LDC5 LOGO REQUEST in the subject line IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

Is a licensing agreement needed for each use of the LDC5 branding?
Licensing agreements will be issued for larger scale collaboration projects with the United Nations. For other cases, a written permission will generally be provided.

Can I create a new logo design in combination with the LDC5 logo?
No. Non-UN entities are not permitted to incorporate the LDC5 logo or its elements into a separate logo design or use it as part of the entity’s own logo or branding elements.

Do I need permission to use LDC5 branding in a print or web publication?
Prior written permission is required to use LDC5 branding in print or digital books, magazines, newspapers, reports or other types of written materials. To request permission, please submit a request according to the instructions above.

Do I need permission to use LDC5 branding for conferences and seminars that are not free to attend?
Yes. Permission is required to use LDC5 branding on all event related materials (invitations, fliers, banners, posters, etc.) where registration fees apply.
