2019 is momentous year for human security. It marks 25 years since the concept was introduced to the UN through the 1994 UNDP Human Development Report. It also marks the 20th anniversary of the UN Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS), which has been instrumental in moving the concept to an operational framework. The High-Level Event provided an important opportunity to reflect on the contributions human security has made to the work of the Organization and to chart its future as a critical framework for strengthening the UN system response to complex and interconnected challenges through a people-centered perspective.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
