Livelihood protection and sustainable empowerment of vulnerable, rural and refugee communities in the Jordan Valley

Duration: July 2010– June 2013
Budget: US$4,758,872
Implementing Agencies: FAO, UNESCO, UNRWA, UN Women

The overall goal of the programme was to help vulnerable, rural, and refugee communities mitigate and cope with the interlinked challenges in the Jordan Valley. In close consultation with the local beneficiaries, authorities, and community-based organizations, four UN agencies combined their expertise to provide vocational training and income generating activities; promote the efficient use of water and good agricultural practices; and make available housing for IDPs and those most vulnerable.
