This innovative programme is advancing sustainable development in the Caribbean region by promoting greater inclusion of women and youth in key economic sectors, building community resilience to environmental and economic shocks, and supporting regional integration for greater coherence in tackling common priorities. The programme will strengthen gender- and youth-sensitive policymaking in the 14 Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries in tandem with community-based initiatives to enhance climate-smart agriculture, fisheries and related small business development in Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Granada and Saint Lucia. Linking regional, national and local action is critical for sharpening the focus on shared challenges, enhancing knowledge-sharing, and creating an environment that accelerates local sustainable development progress.
