Dr. Hu Chuan-Peng is a professor at the School of Psychology, Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing, China. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2017 from Tsinghua University, Beijing, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research (LIR) in Mainz, Germany, until October 2020.
As a researcher in psychological and brain sciences, his team employs multiple methods (e.g., behavioral experiments, computational modeling, and neuroimaging) to study how humans evaluate themselves. Dr. Hu has been an enthusiastic supporter of Open Science since 2016. He initiated the Chinese Open Science Network, an online community promoting open science in the Chinese-speaking world. Its WeChat public account (WeChat ID: OpenScience) now has more than 33,000 subscribers.
He also serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Society for the Improvement of Psychological Science (SIPS) and as an editorial board member for several scholarly journals, including Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science.
Through his research, community-building, and editorial service, Dr. Hu actively works to advance open, rigorous, and globally inclusive psychological science.
