A Partnerships Fair was introduced as
an experiment into CSD-11 to enable those with experiences
or information about sustainable development partnerships,
and those who wished to become involved in such partnerships
in some way, to meet and share experiences. It
ran from 28th April to 8th May 2003, from 10am-1pm and
3-6pm, in Conference Room B in the UN Secretariat building.
The range of activities in the Partnerships
Fair included:
- events relating to specific initiatives,
such as reporting on an existing partnership, launching
a new partnership, discussing a proposed partnership
and seeking other partners;
- events discussing areas of interest
relating to partnerships more generally; and
- "Open Forum" time when the room was
set aside for networking of participants and
match-making.
The Dag Hammerskjold Library Auditorium
was made available at certain limited times for Partnership
Fair events that required a larger setting.
In addition, there was space available
in the Partnerships Fair room for participants to distribute
materials relating to partnerships for sustainable development.
