The present resource provides information on the current status of the work of the Ad Hoc Committee on each draft article of the proposed convention on the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities. The draft text presented by the Working Group serves as a basis for negotiations by Member States and Observers in the Ad Hoc Committee. The Current status is based on negotiations reflected in the Report of the Coordinator/Chair. Background documents include all revisions and amendments made by the Members of the Ad Hoc Committee to the draft text, and received by the Secretariat in electronic form. They are organized by session and presented in reverse chronological order. The document also includes references to relevant existing international instruments prepared by the Secretariat.
