About the event

In accordance with ECOSOC resolutions 2015/33 and 2021/6, the UN Forum on Forests will conduct a midterm review of the effectiveness of the International Arrangement on Forests (IAF) in 2024. In preparation for this midterm review, a set of assessments is being carried out on progress made in ten areas, as identified by the Forum at its 17th session in May 2022. The objective of the expert group meeting is to provide an opportunity for experts from Members of the Forum, regional and subregional partners, CPF member organizations, and major groups to review and discuss assessments that are being undertaken on progress made in three of these ten areas, namely: towards contributions of the Forum to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, involvement of regional and subregional partners and involvement of major groups and other stakeholders.
