About the event

The first workshop on forest financing in Low Forest Cover Countries will be held in Tehran, Iran, from 12 to 17 November 2011. It is co-organised by the UNFF Secretariat, the UNCCD Secretariat, UNEP and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and is funded by the Global Environmental Facility.

The objective of the workshop was to validate the findings of the preliminary studies, particularly to identify gaps, obstacles and opportunities in financing Sustainable Forest Management in Low Forest Cover Countries (LFCCs), and initiate a network of forest financing stakeholders in the LFCCs and at the international level.
