National reports to UNFF10

Member States are encouraged to report on the progress made on the implementation of the Non-Legally Binding Instrument on all types Forests and achievement of the Global Objectives on Forests

The tenth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF10, Istanbul, 8-19 April) will assess the overall progress made on the implementation of the Non-Legally Binding Instrument on all types Forests (forest instrument) and achievement of its four Global Objectives on Forests (GOFs)

Assessing progress towards implementation of the forest instrument and the achievement of the four Global Objectives on Forests are critical components of the work of the UNFF, and is an important part of the session of the Forum to deliberate on these issues. The tenth session will, therefore, also assess the overall progress made on the implementation of the forest instrument and achievement of its four Global Objectives on Forests.

The Secretariat has prepared a streamlined national reporting format [FR, ES] in response to the request made in the Resolution on Forest for People, adopted at the ninth session of the Forum in February 2011. The Member States are encouraged to use the format to provide information to the Secretariat and kindly submit their voluntary national reports by 30 September 2012. The input received from countries will greatly help in preparing the Secretary General’s Report to UNFF10 on these issues.
