Report launch
Climate and biodiversity benefits of forests for agriculture (FAO)
Forests provide cooling, regulate water flows, and protect soils, thereby enhancing crop productivity and resilience. The FAO report brings together research from more than 25 institutions to demonstrate how integrated landscape approaches support farmers and ecosystems.
Key message:Forests and trees regulate temperature, water flows and soil health—making them indispensable allies for agriculture. Integrated landscape approaches are essential for climate adaptation and for safeguarding rural well-being.

Towards a productive Forests Global Initiative: Scaling inclusive action supported by the Forest and Farm Facility (FAO)
This event presents Brazil’s National Productive Forests Program and showcases pathways to scale integrated forest–farm solutions through a proposed global initiative. It highlights how forest and farm producer organizations drive inclusive transformation and climate-resilient livelihoods.
Key message:Empowering forest and farm producer organizations—and scaling integrated forest–farm solutions through platforms like TERRA—is vital to restoring degraded lands, strengthening family farming and expanding sustainable forest-based value chains.
12:30pm – 1:00pm

Forest Flow: Announcing innovative financial, commercial and digital solutions for forest territories in Mesoamerica (Germany, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, UNDP)
ForestFlow brings together payments for environmental services, green credit, insurance, deforestation-free value chains and interoperable digital platforms to support sustainable territorial development. The initiative prioritizes women, Indigenous Peoples and youth as agents of change.
Key message: Integrated financial, commercial and digital tools can unlock equitable incentives for conservation and sustainable production, particularly when they center women, Indigenous Peoples and youth in territorial development.

Gender equity and inclusion in land use: experiences on monitoring and best practices (Rede Mulher Florestal)
This session presents cases from Brazil and Africa on gender-responsive monitoring and women-led restoration. It emphasizes the need for gender-disaggregated data, tenure rights and community-based approaches to strengthen sustainable forest governance.
Key message: Mainstreaming gender in land-use policies and projects requires robust data, equitable tenure rights and active participation of women—including through women-led organizations—in decision-making and monitoring.

Agroforestry for inclusive value chains: shaping global commodities for climate and community (CIFOR-ICRAF)
The session explores how agroforestry regenerates landscapes, diversifies farmer incomes and strengthens equitable global commodity systems. Field experiences from the Amazon show how co-designed, multifunctional agroforestry systems integrate trees, crops and livestock to restore degraded areas and enhance livelihoods.
Key message: Agroforestry—as a co-designed, regenerative land-use system—is a scalable nature-based solution that builds climate resilience, supports biodiversity and strengthens equitable global commodity value chains for smallholders.
