Measuring resources for sustainable development: The contribution of Total Official Support to Sustainable Development (TOSSD)

Summary:
The Addis Ababa Action Agenda sets out a comprehensive financing strategy on the means of implementation for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. In line with this strategy and to support its implementation, the TOSSD statistical measure aims to address critical data gaps by providing a comprehensive picture of officially-supported resource flows for sustainable development beyond Official Development Assistance.
Work to develop TOSSD has been undertaken in 2017 and 2018 by a Task Force of statisticians and development policy experts from provider and recipient countries as well as multilateral organisations. The Task Force has advanced in its work to elaborate the statistical features and methodology of TOSSD and prepare a first set of reporting instructions. In light of this progress, Ghana and the TOSSD Task Force would like to continue the discussion on TOSSD with the participants of the Financing for Development Forum.
