The launch of the Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance (GISD) will be held on 16 October from 11:45 am-1 pm in the ECOSOC Chamber. GISD is a unique alliance of 30 CEOs convened by the Secretary-General as part of his Strategy for Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is aimed at leveraging the insights of private sector leaders to facilitate the scaling-up and alignment of business operations, finance and investment with the SDGs. The launch is open to Member States and stakeholders.
The core objective of the GISD Alliance will be to address incentives for long-term investment for sustainable development through leveraging the unique insights of CEOs in identifying policy, institutional, market, and other impediments to financing sustainable development, as well as advancing viable solutions.
