*/ In its resolution 52/190, the General Assembly invited the Council to consider devoting
one high-level segment before the year 2001 to human settlements and the implementation of
the Habitat Agenda. In its resolution 52/86, the Assembly invited the Council to consider
including the question of violence against women at the high-level segment of one of its
forthcoming sessions, in the context of its discussion on the human rights of women.
