Tshering Dorji is a business and economic correspondent with Kuensel, a national daily in Bhutan. His work has been recognized by the Journalist Association of Bhutan, which awarded him best business story in 2018 and best election story in 2019. He is also author of Sacred and Sanctified, an oral history of the remote village of Sangbaykha in Haa, Bhutan. During the Fellowship, Tshering looks forward to reporting on Bhutan's quest to graduate from the Least Developed Country category and its continued economic vulnerability. As part of that coverage, he plans to write an analytical series on the alignment of Bhutan's Gross National Happiness Index and Five Year Plan with the Sustainable Development Goals. He is also eager to cover the Secretary-General's Climate Action Summit.
