Fatemeh Jamalpour is a multimedia journalist currently based in Chicago, Illinois, where she is completing a Master's degree at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She is a contributor to Iran newspaper, covering issues surrounding minorities, refugees, and Muslim immigrants in the Chicago area. Previously, Jamalpour covered women's rights, human rights and the City Council for Shargh, a reformist daily in Iran. Her most recent project is a documentary short about an Afghan refugee family who moved to Chicago on the same day that President Trump signed his executive order banning travel to the United States for citizens of six Muslim-majority countries.
