Synopsis:
HaMerotz LaMillion (The Race to the Million) is an Israeli reality television game show based on the Emmy Award-winning American series, The Amazing Race. Hosted by Ron Shahar and regularly watched by 3 million viewers, the sixth installment of the series featured 12 teams of contestants in a race around the world. Season 6 premiered on 21 October 2017 on Channel 2 and moved to Reshet 13 starting 1 November 2017. Married couple Evelin and Tohar Haimovich were the winners of this season, which concluded on 21 March 2018.
CCOI's Role:
CCOI facilitated the on-location filming (Season 6 Episode 6) at UN headquarters in New York and made necessary legal and logistical arrangements.
One of the challenges faced by the contestants was filmed at UN Headquarters. At the clue box placed at the UN Rose Garden, the contestants listened to the song In Our Garden, which named multiple countries. They then had to make their way back to Times Square and find three people, each from three of the mentioned countries. The contestants then had to bring those three people to a judge outside of the US Armed Forces recruiting station, who would give the contestants their next clue if they successful found the correct nationals by getting them to show their passports or IDs and say hello in their native languages as proof.
