Digital violence is violence.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) launched bodyright, a new ‘copyright’ to demand protection from online violence.
We are shining a light on the prevalence and harmful impact of online abuse and demanding action to end digital violence.
We are calling on policymakers, tech companies and social media platforms to take image-based abuse, the devaluation of human beings and online misogyny as seriously as they take copyright infringement.
