Description
This project is the application of the "Working for Health Programme" and the five‐year action plan for health employment and inclusive economic growth (2017 – 2021) that the ILO, OECD and WHO jointly developed in consultation with Member States and stakeholders in response to the Commission’s report and to UN General Assembly resolution 71/159 (2016). Its aim is to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and strengthening the national policy capacity in four (4) low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) along the Belt and Road, and to expand and transform the health and social workforce to meet population needs and the Univeral Health Coverage requirements. To do so, the project will provide direct assistance to the governments, social partners and key stakeholders to strengthen institutional capacity, analytics and intersectoral policy dialogue and indirectly to develop, finance and implement enhanced national health workforce strategies.
