In response to specific requests, the Brazilian Government is ready to provide assistance as appropriate on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the missile, chemical, biological and nuclear areas to States in the Latin American and Caribbean region and other developing countries, in particular African Portuguese-speaking countries, lacking the legal and/or regulatory infrastructure and experience required to implement the provisions set forth by the Security Council Resolution 1540.
