President meets with High-Ranking Officials of African States
President of the General Assembly H.E. Mr. Vuk Jeremic met with the President of Equatorial Guinea (Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo) and Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Ghana (Ms. Hanna Serwaa Tetteh), Gabon (Mr. Emmanuel Issoze-Ngondet), Egypt (Mr. Mohamed Kamel Ali Amr), Zambia (Dr. Effron Lungu), Mali (Mr. Tieman Coulibaly), Nigeria (Mr. Olugbenga Ashiru), Namibia (Ms. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah), Ethiopia (Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus), Angola (Mr. Manuel Augusto - Secretary-of-State for Foreign Affairs), South Africa (Mrs. Maite Nkoana-Mashabane), Liberia (Mr. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan) and Sudan (Mr. Ali Ahmed Karti) in the scope of the Thematic Debate to examine the tools of Peaceful Resolution of Conflicts in Africa.
All parties emphasised the significance of the political declaration to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the African Union.
They discussed developmental challenges in Africa and considered the ways to include them in post 2015 development agenda.
The President expressed concern over the situation in Mali and stressed the necessity for creating of a condition of ceasing of hostilities fighting terrorism in this country.
