The UN Food Systems Pre-Summit highlighted this important need for science and innovation including in a session on the theme of “Climate, food security and COVID-19, challenges and opportunities.”

There is an urgent need to adopt innovative approaches in tackling disaster risk, especially in the agri-food sector. Additionally, a better management of disasters and climate risk is at the core of achieving food systems transformation towards 2030.
