Final country meetings

The final meetings were organized in Johanesburg, South Africa, Kampala, Uganda, and Dakar, Senegal to present the main findings of the studies elaborated as part of the capacity development project and discuss with national policymakers the feasibility of achieving the MDGs under different financing scenarios and how to address possible macroeconomic trade-offs emerging from scaling up public spending for the MDGs. Further, the overall performance was assessed and the institutionalization and sustainability of the newly acquired methodologies for policymaking purposes as well as for further capacity development activities were discussed.
