Capacity Development and Advisory Services
Ecuador

In 2006, under DPAD's capacity development initiative, Ecuador was included in a list of countries selected to carry out a quantitative assessment of development strategies on the achievement of the MDGs. Since then, DPAD supports the Government of Ecuador in adapting an integrated macro-micro modelling framework designed to better inform policy decision making and enhance macroeconomic and social policy coherence, particularly on issues related to the timely achievement of the MDGs, their financing, and the impact of global economic crisis and other external shocks on their achievement.
The main partner of capacity development activities in Ecuador is the Ministry of Social Development Coordination (MCDS). DPAD collaborated closely with the United Nations Development Program country office in Ecuador and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) for administrative support.
