ECOSOC High-level political forum on sustainable development

About the HLPF?

The High-level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development is the United Nations central platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015.

What will happen during the HLPF in 2016?

The HLPF in 2016 (11-20 July) will include voluntary reviews of 22 countries and thematic reviews of progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, including cross-cutting issues, supported by reviews by the ECOSOC functional commissions and other inter-governmental bodies and forums. The ministerial-level portion of the HLPF will take place during the High-level Segment of ECOSOC (18-20 July).

The HLPF will also include a range of side events and a Partnership Exchange event, allowing multi-stakeholder partnerships to showcase their work and network.
