78th General Assembly session (2023)

During the 78th session of the General Assembly, the following agenda items concerning decolonization were allocated to the Fourth Committee in accordance with the note by the Secretariat dated 11 September 2023 (A/C.4/78/1) and the Fourth Committee held 9 meetings in total (from the 2nd to the 9th and 13th meetings):

  • Item 54: Information from Non-Self-Governing Territories transmitted under Article 73 e of the Charter of the United Nations;
  • Item 55: Economic and other activities which affect the interests of the peoples of the Non-Self-Governing Territories;
  • Item 56: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples by the specialized agencies and the international institutions associated with the United Nations;
  • Item 57: Offers by Member States of study and training facilities for inhabitants of Non-Self-Governing Territories; and
  • Item 58: Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
