Nationwide Marking and Record Keeping of all Ghana Police Service Weapons (Phase 1)

Target countries: Republic of Ghana

Goal: Enhance weapons stockpile and inventory management to Comply with international standards for weapons marking in accordance with the International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS), Stockpile Management of Weapons, Marking and Recordkeeping, Tracing Illicit Small Arms and Light Weapons  and to contribute to the implementation of the sub regional ECOWAS Convention on small arms and light weapons and other international instruments such as the United Nations Programme of Action (UNPoA),the International Tracing Instrument (ITI) and the Firearms Protocol (FP).

Activities: The Project monitoring will be at two levels: 1) Activity implementation monitoring and, 2) Quarterly reporting by the Implementing Partner to UNDP. There will be an end of project quick impact assessment, to demonstrate the results and lessons learned.
