Building national capacity to develop brokering controls

Implementing agency: Small Arms Survey (SAS)

Project timeframe: 01/01/2017 – 31/12/2017

Target countries: Ghana, Namibia, Zambia

Goal: Build awareness and understanding of the participating states of the nature and scope of the brokering commitments under the PoA and the ATT.

Activities and Outputs:

  • Together with national counterparts, SAS conducted capacity-building workshops in each of the countries with around 70 people participating in total, representing broad cross-sections of relevant national ministries and organizations in each country.

  • In preparation, a background paper was prepared for each workshop, tailored to address the country’s situation with regards to brokering regulation.
