Overview
The publication contains the report of the Group of Consultant Experts carrying out the study on the climatic and potential physical effects of nuclear war, including nuclear winter. The experts held three sessions from 1987 to 1988. The Group concluded, inter alia, that a major nuclear war would entail the high risk of a global environmental disruption, and that the risk would be greatest if large cities and industrial centres in the northern hemisphere were to be targeted in the summer months.
