The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Sunny Twist Young mother in the garden picking vegetables, With her baby on her back, Peaceful day in all of Japan, Suddenly loud noises swoop in and leave, The young mother looks up not knowing that it would be her last, In the matter of minutes population of Japan takes a dip, Couple of people and animals survive to see everything blackened, "Its hard to breath" says the survivors in their mind and then out loud Verse 2 The Americans thinking they had done good, They couldn't have done something much worse, Leaving both towns and other places in Japan in a crisis, Babies born into tragedy and look and feel like one, Tough days for Japan, Tough years for Japan
