The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.
Below is one of the contest entries.
The atomic bomb took the lives of many people over 65 years since then Does the number of the nuclear weapons decrease? Does the number of the people who died in war decrease? A man , one of hibakusha said "Makerugakachi" Yielding is sometimes the best way of succeeding What is the victory in war? Can you say you win confidently when you lose your family? The victory for human beings is not to win wars but to exterminate wars No one is born to be killed
