Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

I saw a man that was killed by

The atomic bomb in Japan

Useless, everything was destroyed

Bombs fell on top of him or her

Pile of human flesh

I feel upset

A man or woman was going to work and then atomic shocked

I am sad because people died

I feel like some of the people died for no reason.
