Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

Is peace a war?

Or is it fighting?

All these years was peace a form of union?

Or was it yet just ignored?

Peace isn't fighting

It isn't a war

It is a truce

It is something we should start doing

A world with peace will be

No more dreadful wars

No more going hardcore

And no more lives being torn

Peace should be spread

Not being known as dead

No more fights, threats, and depression

Let peace now be a succession.
