Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

There is a logic that beats all but the true logicians

it is a philosophy that all but the real philosophers can't philosophized

here is a wisdom that defies but the wise

who understand?

only mortals that dwell not in den's walls of wars

only mortals that prevail in perfect palace of peace

it is not in the sky that the astronomers may be ascribed to have seen

neither in the deepest sea that the sailors may be proclaimed to have felt

o yea brutal power at its apex will not prevail

though men be feeble
few by whom the logic are discovered

will travel triumph to the throne of God

though all tough men were made by it
they rarely thought it through

A mere scientist may seems to have sensed
but just a sensible insane

over the last darkness in Eden was it obeyed by the first light

none but by it do planets attract planets

so do men birds and beasts fall in love

the logic lies neither here nor there

it's within you-thus stability only in unity .
