Paper Cranes

Poetry for Peace Contest

The Poetry for Peace contest was held from 15 September until 14 October 2011. The winners were anounced at a ceremony at UN headquarters in New York.

Below is one of the contest entries.

I don't feel myself a poet
nor a writer,
but my rough verses
like stone have the passion
and the desire to sing
for universal love and peace.

Against intelligent bombs
and needless armament
of war lords
confiding on those
who hope
to bring change
to this earth.

— Gero Miceli
